Bradford based fresh food manufacturing plant, Farmers Boy, part of the Wm Morrisons supermarket organisation recently achieved certification to the quality management system standard, ISO 9001.
The certification followed eighteen months of preparation and illustrates Farmers Boy’s commitment to business excellence in all areas – customers, operations and people.
Stephen Clayborough, operations director Farmers Boy, said:
“ISO 9001 certification demonstrates that we have created a secure foundation on which our business can grow. Preparing for ISO 9001 was extremely beneficial and by introducing an Operational Excellence Model for Leadership Accountability and Colleague Messages, we created a more joined up way of working that offers greater visibility. The Operational Excellence Model is a balance score card that helps focus and deliver improvements across four areas, namely customers, operational, people and finances.
“It enables our shop floor colleagues to understand how their work directly affects the customer experience. The result is a greater sense of involvement and ownership among colleagues, leading to improved morale.”
